Lesson 3: Animals and Young ones

All living things produce young ones. Young ones are like their parents. For example, dogs have puppies. Even though they are smaller - all puppies are like dogs in most ways.

So, in this lesson, we learn some animals and their young ones.

Animal - Young One
Dog - Puppy
Cat - Kitten
Lion - Cub
Horse - Foal
Pig - Piglet
Hen - Chick
Duck - Duckling
Goat - Kid
Cow - Calf

EXERCISE:

1. The young one of a goat is called a _____________
2. The young one of a cow is called a _____________
3. The young one of a Lion is called a _____________
4. The young one of a Dog is called a _____________

Activity:

Find out the following:

1. What is the young one of a Tiger called?
2. What is the young one of a Fox called?
3. Can you identify a rabbit? What is its young one called?

Use your textbook / Internet to find pictures of animals and their young ones. What do you call the young one of a whale?

    yes. actually, the young ones of frogs are also quite different from their adults.
